For the first time there is now a hard top for a Cobra replica that is both stylish and practical.

The DB Hard Top is unique in that the rear (Although looking like a regular Le Mans hard top) screen actually opens and in so doing away with the need to split the boot lid and problems fuelling up when retro fitted to cars with the fuel filler on the top of the rear deck.
About Us

DB Replicas first started building Cobra replicas in 1993 along side an existing business which involved servicing and repairing regular production cars and restoring classics.

The first Cobra built was a Cortina based Rover V8 powered car, and after enjoying using this car for a year or so it was time for an upgrade.
The car was advertised, and a number of enquiries came in from surprisingly, Germany.

A few days later a Cobra replica dealer from Germany arrived and bought the car. He also asked if we could supply him with new built left hand drive cars. After a few telephone calls to different Cobra replica manufacturers we decided to build 5 Daxes initially.

Our German customer was so pleased with the cars he received that the order was changed to "on going". As a result, the servicing and repair side of the business was phased out to concentrate fully on what was a far more satisfying way of earning a living.

Over the next few years DB Replicas built over 35 LHD Cobras for the German and European market all for the trade. During 1997 the currency exchange rate fluctuations made it very difficult to supply the European dealers, so in order to keep the business running it was paramount that a UK customer base was established.
A new trade customer was found in the UK and DB Replicas were able to keep trading.

2001

DB Replicas decided to look at the retail market, as the introduction of the SVA (single vehicle approval scheme) put a number of people off the idea of building their own car. This was due to the potential problems with getting their cars "on the road" legally.

All our cars are SVA approved as a matter of course and are fully road legal, meeting all current motor industry standards.
To date we have built over 50 Dax Cobras, many of them for repeat customers.

2002

Launch of the DB Replicas website under the banner http://www.V8Cobra.com, so that potential customers can (at a click) find out what we are all about.
